Sunday 16 July in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. A 5th year (September) and ‘A’ student of Mary’s secondary school Dundalk, Israel has also won bronze medal for his school in 2016. In January 2017, Israel decided to pay more attention to his ability in Track and field events so he joined Dun Dealgan Athletic Club. In 6 months of that magical move, Israel has done himself, family, Dundalk and Louth proud by his 2nd position win at the championship which is " our first Track Medal winner for the club in many years”, according to the secretary of Dun Dealgan Athletic Club- Rita McCarron. Commendably, Rita went further to say that, “Israel has been a member of our club since early this year. He has shown exceptional ability from the start and has had a positive impact on the younger members of the club, and has shown real leadership skills when involved in the coaching of younger and newer club members. He has always been most respectful to his coach and to other officials of the club.” Israel told eDundalk during our chat that he has always had “great passion for track and field right from his primary school.” The young lad aspires to study Biomedical Engineering in college but “will use his passion to help coach and develop younger generations and other new club members".
